Our guest speaker will Robyn Duell. Robyn works as a senior climatologist in the
Climate Analysis Section of the National Climate Centre at the Bureau of
Meteorology. Previous to this appointment, Robyn worked as a weather forecaster
for the UK Met Office and the Bureau of Meteorology Northern Territory Regional
Office. Robyn’s interests include the monitoring of climate variability and
climate change with a particular interest in the analysis of extreme events.
Robyn will provide a brief introduction to the science of climate change. She
will talk about the changes that have already been observed in the Australian
climate record over the past one hundred years, as well as present a range of
likely future climates for Australia, based on different emissions scenarios.
